Barbara Mase on Mike Rinder

TRANSCRIPT:

I worked with Mike Rinder on events between the years of 1992 to 2006. He had a really bad habit of, he would write a speech and—typically what happened with the events is a speaker would be responsible for their speech. They would write the speech, they would give direction, they would go through the pictures, they would do the research. But he never did any of the work. So a lot of people behind the scenes were doing the work to put the presentation together and to show what had been accomplished, but he basically would just hand it off, he would just come in at the end of the night and change it and say, “Oh, you’re going to stay up, get it done.” Just like with a smile on his face. Like, “Well, you’re just going to have to stay up and get it done.” And you know, everybody just stands with their jaws down. It just was very, besides arrogant and lazy, it was extremely inconsiderate, and it just was no product.

There were so many examples of Mike Rinder being rude and uncaring and it wasn’t just like, okay, he had a bad day so he was rude or he put somebody down one day only. It was an attitude and a way of life for him. He literally just, he did that all the time. So on a scale of 1 to 10, Mike Rinder, in terms of somebody that is pleasurable to work with, would be a zero. Like if I could make a zero lower than a zero, I would. It’s just, it’s not an exaggeration whatsoever.
