A Pattern of Aggression
Toward Women

A former associate witnessed Mike Rinder’s harsh treatment of women and verbal abuse.

Mike Rinder was a bully. I observed this when we were working together on putting together media and other content to play at one of the Church’s international events. There were two women working with him on putting this together. And I have to say, terseness was something he was very, very good at. And the way he would get angry with someone when it wasn’t going the way he wanted—he was very harsh.

As a matter of fact, he was so harsh with one of the women he was working with, nothing she put together would please him. She worked her butt off night and day to get that video content together. And every single time she presented it to him, it was verbally just thrown back at her, and in a very harsh manner.

He was so harsh with one of the women he was working with, nothing she put together would please him….She was a tough woman but it broke her down. One time, I found her in tears.

She was a tough woman but it broke her down. One time, I found her in tears. She said, “I don’t know how to make this work for him. We’ve put together everything he’s asked for and he just doesn’t like any of it.”

Finally, we had the editor put together the presentation the way they wanted to do it, not the way Mike wanted it, and sent it up to Mike’s boss. It was approved the next morning.

I don’t know if Mike was waging a personal vendetta against that woman, but this was only one of maybe half a dozen incidents I saw occur like that over a two-year period. He was very, very, very aggressive.

And that was a pattern toward many of the women who worked with him.
